Robert Alan Chapek (born 1960) is the CEO of the Walt Disney Company and an American media executive and businessman. He began his 26-year career with the Walt Disney Company in the Home Entertainment division and rose through the ranks to become Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products before becoming CEO on February 25, 2020.
Robert Chapek was born in the Chicago suburbs in 1960 to working-class parents Marie (Lofay) and Bernard W. Chapek. He was born and raised in Hammond, Indiana. His father served in World War II. [4] His family travelled to Walt Disney World every year.
Chapek attended George Rogers Clark Jr./Sr. High School and graduated in 1977.
He graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology and a master’s degree in business administration from Michigan State University.
Before joining the Walt Disney Company in 1993, Chapek worked in brand management for the H. J. Heinz Company and advertising for J. Walter Thompson.
