
Artis Leon Ivey Jr., better known by his stage name Coolio, is an American rapper, musician, record producer, and actor who was born on August 1, 1963. With his albums It Takes a Thief (1994), Gangsta’s Paradise (1995), and My Soul (1996), Coolio earned widespread popularity in the mid-to-late 1990s (1997). He is best known for the Grammy Award-winning hit track “Gangsta’s Paradise” from 1995, as well as the singles “Fantastic Voyage” from 1994, “1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin’ New)” from 1996, and “C U When U Get There” from 1997. (1997).
He was also recognised for rapping the theme song for the Nickelodeon show Kenan & Kel in the late 1990s (“Aw, Here It Goes!”). Coolio has subsequently gone on to create his own albums and has also taken up cooking, hosting a web series called Cookin’ with Coolio. and releasing a cookbook.
